Three local couples will compete for glory and prizes in the first-ever Leader Newlywed Game event, set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday during the annual Leader Wedding Fair at the Quality Inn in Festus. The fair runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; admission is $3 and proceeds go to the Backstoppers.
Based on the classic TV game show, the game will feature a series of questions posed to wives about their husbands and vice versa. The winning couple takes home a nifty trophy and gets to bask in the glory of victory.
Competing couples are:
■ Jefferson County Executive Dennis Gannon and Dist. 115 State Rep. Elaine Gannon
■ Leader photographers Ron and Lisa Rigdon
■ Northwest Chamber of Commerce president Danny Tuggle and artist and local businesswoman Susan Tuggle
