The Arnold Community Theatre Troupe has a last-minute change of venue for its annual One-Act Festival this weekend. The Best of One-Act Festival now will be held at KTK Productions Performing Arts Theater, 4716 Macklind Ave., St. Louis.

It will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 19-20. Admission is free.

Before the change in venue, the festival was supposed to be held in the Fox High School drama room, but troupe members recently learned the district would charge a fee to hold the event there, which was cost prohibitive, said Mike Singer Jr., the troupe’s president.

He said the school district recently informed the nonprofit organization that it would need to cover the cost for a custodian and district personnel to be on hand for the event, but the troupe could not afford that. So, the troupe scrambled to find a new venue and came up with KTK Productions.

Six one-act plays, the best from the past few years, will be performed at the festival. The plays are “The Kiss,” directed by Lyndal Doherty; “Girl the Goat, the Goat Spleen, and Everything,” directed by Mike Singer; “Fairy Tales Anonymous,” directed by Jacob Grosche; “The Missing Title,” directed by Abigail Henderson; “Worth Waiting For,” directed by John “Jake” Singer; and “Counter Clockwise,” directed by Mike Singer Jr.

Some of the actors in the various shows include: Mike Singer, Jo Bennet, Jake Singer, Billy Busch, Chris Kidwell, Tory Davidson, Elizabeth Albers, Aileen Wolk, Carolyn McKinley, Daniel McKinley, Cody King, Pat Keller, Margaret Henderson, Tori Tricamo, Holland Doherty, Gavyn Dasher, Lydia Bennet, Helen Voss, Cat Jaques, Linda Dauernheim, Anita Anton- Hester, Jacob Grosche, Sarah King, Mike Singer Jr., Eric Delay.
