A 34-year-old St. Louis man wanted on felony warrants has been arrested following an hourslong standoff at an apartment in the 100 block of Crosswinds Drive in Arnold, police reported.

The man was arrested at about 6:50 a.m. today, Nov. 4. He had barricaded himself in the apartment at about 1:30 a.m., according to the Arnold Police Department.

The standoff started at about 8 p.m. Monday when Arnold Police detectives saw the man get out of a 2015 Dodge Ram pickup that had been reported stolen on Nov. 1 by the St. Louis Police. The man then entered the apartment.

Arnold Police Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said the man does not live at the apartment, but he is associated with it.

According to an Arnold Police Facebook post, the man is a suspect in numerous vehicle break-ins reported throughout the area.

After obtaining a search warrant, detectives requested assistance from Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office SWAT officers. Before SWAT members arrived, a woman exited the apartment the man had entered, Christopher said.

SWAT officers contacted the man early this morning before he locked himself in the apartment. The man exited the apartment after just more than five hours and was arrested without further incident, Christopher said.
