A firetruck leads the way for the parade at the 2018 Hillsboro Homecoming and Festival.

The Hillsboro Homecoming & Festival set for Friday and Saturday will be chock-full of activities, including a parade, car show, live music, carnival rides, games and concessions.

Most of the festivities will be from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday and from noon to midnight Saturday, held along and around Main Street in Hillsboro.

“We will have a parade that begins at 11 a.m. Saturday,” said Mandy Alley, administrator for the Greater Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce, which sponsors the festival. “It starts at Hillsboro Intermediate School (10478 Business 21), goes south on Business 21 to right on Maple Street. They line up at 10:30 a.m.

“The Hillsboro Rotary Club will hold a pancake breakfast from 7-10 a.m. Saturday at the Hillsboro Intermediate School cafeteria.”

A car show will be held Saturday along Main Street, Alley said. “Registration for the car show is 12:30-1 p.m.,” she said.

“The car show is 1-4 p.m. There will be music by Paula Harris at the car show.”

The following musical acts will perform:

Friday

■ 8 p.m. to midnight – Power Play, a band out of St. Louis that plays funk, R&B, blues and Motown.

Saturday

■ Noon to 12:30 p.m. – the Hillsboro Intermediate School Treble Singers.

■ 12:30-3:30 p.m. – Shannon Cox, Fredericktown, plays country and rock.

■ From 3:30-6:30 p.m. – Leslie Craig & Scott Logan.

■ 8 p.m.-midnight: Johnathan Braddy Band, Crystal City, plays country and rock.

Also, the Hillsboro Youth Football program’s cheerleaders will perform from 3-3:30 p.m. Saturday.

A cornhole tournament will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday.
