A woman from Franklin County was killed and two others were injured in a single-car traffic accident Saturday afternoon (April 24) on Hwy. Y in Ware.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Richard Tracy, 78, of Union was driving a 2006 Ford Expedition south on Hwy. Y at Browns Ford Road at 2:30 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve to the left and the Ford went off the right side of the road. Tracy overcorrected to the left, and the Ford then went off the left side of the road and overturned multiple times, the report said.
A passenger in the Ford, Donna Tracy, 78, also of Union, was killed in the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:05 p.m. by a paramedic with the Valle Ambulance District.
Richard Tracy and another passenger in the Ford, Tammy Tracy, 58, of Union, both suffered moderate injuries and both were taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
Updates on their conditions were not available.
Richard Tracy was wearing a seat belt, the report said, but the two women were not. The Ford was totaled, according to the report.
