Charlena M. Evans, 39, of Valley Park was killed early Wednesday morning (April 18) when she was walking in the southbound lanes on Hwy. 141 in St. Louis County and was struck by a pickup driven by a High Ridge man, the Missouri Highway Patrol reported.
The patrol reported that the driver, Kevin S. Albert, 22, of High Ridge, did not see the pedestrian in the roadway. He was not cited in the incident.
No injuries were reported for Albert.
At about 3 a.m., Albert was driving a 2004 GMC Sierra south on Hwy. 141, and the front of the Sierra struck Evans, who was walking in between two southbound lanes of the highway north of Clayton Road, the report said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by West County EMS personnel.
Albert was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The Sierra had minor damage and was driven from the scene, the report said.
