A Springfield-area woman was seriously injured Friday (Nov. 26) in a two-vehicle traffic accident on Hwy. 30 in the Oermann area in southwest Jefferson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Susan Watters, 22, of Richwoods was driving west in the 8500 block of Hwy. 30 at 10 p.m. when she turned left into a driveway in front of an eastbound 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Angela Carpenter, 53, of Urbana. The front of the Chrysler hit the front of the Ford.
Carpenter suffered serious injuries and was taken by Big River Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
An update on her condition was not available.
The report made no mention of an injury to Watters.
Carpenter was wearing a seat belt while Watters was not, the report said. The Ford had extensive damage while the Chrysler was totaled, according to the patrol.
