Two teenage boys were seriously hurt in a single-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon, March 18, near Cadet in Washington County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 17-year-old boy from De Soto was driving a 1991 Chevrolet S10 pickup east on Old Bonne Terre Road east of Hwy. 47 at 2:30 p.m. when he drove off the right side of the road and hit a tree.
The boy and a passenger in the truck, Donovan Brand, 18, of Mineral Point, both were seriously injured. The De Soto boy was taken by Washington County Ambulance to SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, while Brand was taken by Washington County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.
Updates on their conditions were not available.
Neither was wearing a seat belt, the report said. The truck was totaled, according to the report.
