Two women, one from Arnold and the other from Imperial, were hurt Thursday evening (June 10) in a two-vehicle accident at Miller Road and North Royale Drive in Imperial, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 7:15 p.m., Kya L. Henderson, 19, of Arnold was driving a northbound 2010 Nissan Altima and while trying to turn left onto westbound Miller Road, failed to yield and pulled into the path of a 2007 Jeep Compass headed east on Miller Road. The front of the Altima struck the front of the Compass, and then the Altima ran off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole, the report said.
Amy M. England, 34, of Imperial was driving the Compass and sustained minor injuries.
Henderson was moderately injured, according to the report.
Neither driver was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
Both were taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.
The Compass was totaled, and the Altima was extensively damaged, the report said.
