Two Jefferson County women were hurt in a two-car accident Sunday afternoon (June 21) on I-55 in south St. Louis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Denis Kadic, 31, of Arnold was driving a 2003 Ford Mustang north in I-55 north of Butler Hill Road in the Oakville area at noon when he changed lanes and struck the rear of a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Terra Pigg, 29, of De Soto. The force of the impact caused the VW off the west side of the road, where it struck a median wall before overturning.
Pigg sustained serious injuries in the accident while a passenger in her car, Amber Fischer, 33, of Hillsboro, sustained minor injuries. Both were taken by the Mehlville Fire Protection District to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, the report said.
Both were being treated at of 3:30 p.m. Sunday, a hospital spokesman said.
The report did not indicate that Kadic was injured.
All three involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the report said. Kadic’s car had minor damage while the VW was totaled, according to the report.
