Two young Jefferson County women have died from injuries sustained in a car crash Sunday (Jan. 18) in St. Louis.
Marissa Volner, 18, of Pevely died this morning (Jan. 23), a St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman said.
Hanna Shuppert, 20, of Festus died at the scene of the crash, which occurred at 10:34 p.m. Sunday in the 4000 block of West Belle Place, the spokeswoman said.
Both Shuppert and Volner were passengers in the vehicle, which reportedly was stolen and was headed east at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and collided with a parked, unoccupied vehicle and then a tree before coming to rest, the St. Louis Police spokeswoman said.

A third passenger in the vehicle, a 20-year-old St. Louis man, also was critically injured and reportedly is facing murder charges stemming from a Dec. 8 shooting in St. Louis.

According to obituary information, Shuppert worked as a receptionist at Reuther Ford. She was the daughter of Carrie Dees of Festus and Tom Shuppert of St Charles.
