accident patrol patch

An Imperial woman and a young girl from Florida were hurt in a two-car collision Saturday afternoon (March 24) on Hwy. 141 and Schneider Drive in the Springdale area between Arnold and Fenton.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Sandra Slade, 69, of Hudson, Fla., was driving a 2005 Toyota Scion north on Hwy. 141 at 1:39 p.m. when she failed to stop for a flashing signal at Schneider Drive. The right front of her car struck the front of a 2016 Nissan Rogue that was turning left from westbound Schneider Drive onto southbound Hwy. 141, the report said.

Neither driver was reportedly injured, but two passengers in the Toyota, Kimberly Ehlen, 47, of Imperial and Summer Slade, 12, of Hudson, Fla., sustained moderate injuries. Both were taken by Rock Township Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, the report said.

Both were treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

All involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the report said. The Nissan had extensive damage while the Toyota was damaged moderately.
