Two Imperial teenagers were injured in a motorcycle crash on Thursday, Aug. 8, on Miller Road south of Galena Court in Imperial, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 12:15 p.m., a 14-year-old boy was riding a southbound 2009 Yamaha when the vehicle failed to negotiate a right curve, traveled off the left side of the road and struck a road sign, the report said.

The boy and a passenger, a 16-year-old boy, were both moderately injured, the report said. The 14-year-old boy was taken by Rock Township Ambulance to SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis County, and the 16-year-old boy was taken by private conveyance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.

Because both teenagers are juveniles, the Highway Patrol did not release their names.

According to the report, both boys were wearing Department of Transportation-approved safety helmets, and the Yamaha was moderately damaged.
