Two Dittmer teenagers were injured Monday afternoon (Jan. 28) in a one-vehicle accident on Morse Mill Road at Hwy. Y in Dittmer, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 3:55 p.m., Buddy E. Friend, 18, of Luebbering was driving an eastbound 2006 Buick LaCrosse, and it ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree, the report said.

No injuries were reported for Friend. But, two passengers in the car – Madison L. Berrett, 18, and Mindy Patterson, 17, both of Dittmer, were moderately injured, according to the report.

Berrett was taken by helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, the report said. However, a Mercy spokeswoman said the hospital had no information about her.

Patterson was taken by a private vehicle to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County but then was transferred to Mercy Hospital St. Louis, where she was treated and released, according to the hospital.

All three involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The LaCrosse was totaled, the report said.
