A Troy man and woman were hurt Tuesday night (Dec. 29) in a three-vehicle accident involving a big rig driven by an Arnold man. The accident occurred on Hwy. 61 north of Hwy. KK in Lincoln County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 11:04 p.m., Trishelle S. Owens, 42, of Troy was driving a 1995 Dodge Caravan south on Hwy. 61, and the minivan was towing a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a driver inside – Edwin L. Sydnor, 57, of Troy. In the meantime, Michael R. McDonald, 66, of Arnold was driving a southbound 2018 Freightliner and struck the rear of the Jeep that was being towed, the report said.

After the collision, the Jeep ran off the left side of the road, and the big rig struck the rear of the minivan, which then ran off the road according to the report.

No injuries were reported for McDonald. However, Owens and Sydnor were moderately injured and taken by ambulance to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital, the report said.

McDonald was wearing a seat belt, Sydnor was not wearing one, and it’s unknown if Owens was wearing one, the patrol reported.

The Jeep was extensively damaged, and the other two vehicles were moderately damaged, the report said.
