Three teenagers were injured early Tuesday morning (Oct. 26) in a one-vehicle accident at 8752 Hwy. Y in Dittmer, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3:40 a.m., Justin L. Craft, 18, of De Soto was driving a 2004 Ford Ranger north on the highway and while attempting to avoid a deer, ran off the right side of the road, where the pickup overturned and struck a mailbox, the report said.
Craft was moderately injured and taken by Big River Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
Two 17-year-olds from Rolla were passengers in the pickup, and they, too, were moderately injured. They were taken by Valle Ambulance to SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, the report said.
No information was available about their conditions.
None of the teens was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The pickup was totaled, the report said.
The highway patrol didn’t release the names of the teens because they’re juveniles.
