traffic accident patrol patch

Two Imperial men and a Hillsboro man were hurt Wednesday evening (April 3) in a two-vehicle accident on I-55 about a half mile north of Hwy. M between Barnhart and Imperial, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 5:19 p.m., Bruce A. England, 17, of Hillsboro was driving a 2015 Nissan Versa south on I-55 and tried to stop for slowing traffic ahead, but the front of the car struck the rear of a southbound 2011 Ford F150 pickup that was ahead of the car and had already slowed for the congested traffic. Eric D. Boone, 43, of Imperial was driving the pickup, the report said.

England and Boone were moderately hurt, as was a passenger in the Versa – Alexander T. McCallister, 18, of Imperial.

All three were taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where they were treated and released, a hospital spokesman said today (April 4).

Boone and McCallister were not wearing seat belts, and England was wearing one, the patrol reported.

The Versa was extensively damaged and the pickup was moderately damaged, the report said.
