A Sullivan man was injured Sunday afternoon, March 5, in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. H east of Ware Road south of Ware, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3:48 p.m., Jacob C. Kinder, 33, of Sullivan was driving a westbound 2007 Lincoln Town Car and traveled into the eastbound lane before the left rear of the car struck the right front of an eastbound 2021 Ford Expedition driven by Richard B. Francis, 65, of De Soto. The Town Car rotated and ran off the left side of the road, where the right side of the car struck a chevron sign and a tree, the report said.
Kinder was moderately injured and taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City and then transferred to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
According to the report, Francis was wearing a seat belt, and Kinder was not.
The Town Car was totaled, and the Expedition was extensively damaged, the report said.
