A St. Louis woman died early this morning, March 31, following a one-car accident on I-55 north of Imperial Main Street, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 1:01 a.m., Heather R. Cole, 42, of St. Louis was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt north on the interstate and ran off the left side of the road where it struck a concrete median, the report said.
She was taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where she was pronounced dead at 1:49 a.m., according to the report.
Cole was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The car was totaled, the report said.
