Seven people were injured Sunday evening (June 30) in a three-vehicle accident on Hwy. B north of Simpson Hill Drive in Cedar Hill. In addition, one of the drivers, a 38-year-old O’Fallon man, was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.
At 4:57 p.m., the O’Fallon man was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado north on Hwy. B when he crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2003 Acura MDX driven by Megan C. Wilkerson, 30, of Imperial, the report said.
Then debris from that collision struck a southbound 2015 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Lawrence R. Slape, 53, of Cedar Hill, according to the report.
No injuries were reported for Slape.
However, the O’Fallon man was seriously hurt, as was a passenger in the Silverado – Tracey M. Heinsohn, 47, of East Alton, Ill., the report said
Wilkerson also was seriously injured, as was a passenger in the Acura – Joshua P. Pesek, 29, of Imperial. Three other passengers in the Acura had minor injuries, including Riley D. Bagi, 8, Scarlett R. Pesek, 3, and Sophie Pesek, 1, all of Imperial, according to the report.
The O’Fallon man, Heinsohn, Wilkerson and Joshua Pesek were transported by Big River Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
Bagi, Scarlett Pesek and Sophie Pesek were transported by Eureka Fire Protection District to Mercy Hospital South, according to the report.
A hospital spokesman said the hospital had no information about the O’Fallon man. However, all the others hurt in the accident were treated and released, the spokesman said.
The O’Fallon man and Heinsohn were not wearing seat belts, but all the others involved in the accident were wearing them, the patrol reported.
The Silverado and Acura were totaled, and the Equinox had minor damage, the report said.
The O’Fallon man was arrested later that evening for the alleged DWI, according to the report.
