A House Springs man and an Illinois man were injured Thursday afternoon, Aug. 3, in a three-vehicle accident on I-70 west of Hwy. 370 in St. Charles County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 2:11 p.m., Dylan R. Schnarr, 27, of House Springs was driving an eastbound 2010 Chevrolet Silverado and slowed for traffic, and Raymond H. Chesney, 56, of Caseyville, Ill., driving an eastbound 2015 Chevrolet Express, struck the rear of the Silverado. That collision caused cargo from the Silverado to become airborne and land in the road, where an eastbound 2016 Toyota Prius driven by Karla R. Perkowski, 68, of Kansas City struck it, the report said.
Schnarr and Chesney were both moderately injured and taken by St. Charles County EMS to SSM Health DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, according to the report.
No injuries were reported for Perkowski.
Schnarr was not wearing a seat belt, and Chesney and Perkowski were wearing them.
The Silverado and Express were extensively damaged, and the Prius was moderately damaged.
