Virginia R. Burns, 61, of Pevely was hurt Sunday evening (Sept. 6) in a motorcycle wreck on Hwy. 94 east of Hwy. D in St. Charles County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 5:33 p.m., Burns was riding a 2012 Harley-Davidson 1200 Custom east on Hwy. 94, where an unknown vehicle crossed into the path of the motorcycle, and when Burns tried to avoid the vehicle, the bike ran off the right side of the road and overturned, the report said.
Burns was moderately injured and taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, according to the report.
She was not wearing a helmet, or at least not a Department of Transportation-approved one, the patrol reported.
The motorcycle had minor damage, the report said.
