Robert J. Fischer, 61, of Pevely was hurt Friday morning (Feb. 15) in a one-car accident on Hwy. 61-67 near Liquori Road in Barnhart, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 11:35 a.m., Fischer was driving a 2005 Buick LeSabre in the left lane on southbound Hwy. 61-67, and the car crossed the double-yellow center line and then ran off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole and a set of concrete stairs, the report said.
Fischer was moderately hurt and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.
He was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The car was extensively damaged, the report said.
