Steven D. Frank, 49, of Pevely was injured Thursday evening (Feb. 24) in a one-vehicle accident at I-55 and Hwy. M in Barnhart, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 7:45 p.m., Frank was driving a 2003 Ford Excursion north on the interstate, lost control of the SUV on the ice-covered road, and the vehicle began to slide before running off the left side of the road, where it struck a concrete median, the report said.
He was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
He was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The SUV was moderately damaged, the report said.
