fatal accident patrol patch

A Franklin County man was killed and two Jefferson County men were injured in a two-vehicle accident Saturday morning (Nov. 18) on Hwy. KK west of Washington in Franklin County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Robert Lang, 86, of New Haven was driving a 2009 Toyota Camry east on Hwy. KK west of St. Ann’s Road west of Washington at 8:15 a.m. when the Toyota began sliding and crossed the center line of the highway. The Toyota was struck on its right side by a westbound 1986 GMC Savana driven by Timothy Moeckli, 39, of Hillsboro, the report said.

Lang was pronounced dead at the scene by Washington Ambulance personnel at 8:36 a.m., the report said.

Moeckli sustained moderate injuries and a passenger in the Savana, Dana West, 61, of Arnold sustained serious injuries. Both were taken by Washington Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Washington, the report said.

Updates on their conditions were not available.

All three men involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the report said. Both vehicles were totaled.
