motorcycle crash

A 27-year-old Festus man was hurt Tuesday night (Oct. 26) in a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Hwy. A and South Mill Street in Festus, said Sgt. Jessica Griffaw of the Festus Police Department.

At about 7 p.m., Adam Neal, 27, of Festus was riding a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle east on Hwy. A, and Paul Olinger, 73, of Festus, in a 1994 Dodge Dakota pickup, was turning left from westbound Hwy. A to South Mill Street when the two vehicles collided.

No injuries were reported for Olinger, Griffaw said.

She said Neal, who was wearing a helmet, was moderately injured.

Neal was taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County, a JPAD spokesman said.

However, the hospital had no information about him, a Mercy spokesman said.

“Both vehicles are presumed totaled,” Griffaw said. “The intersection was closed for nearly 50 minutes.”

She said no tickets were issued in the incident.
