traffic accident 4 patrol patch

A 25-year-old Hillsboro man “suffered a medical condition” and then crashed the car he was driving on Hwy. Z south of Sandy Creek Road in the Pevely area on Tuesday evening (Jan. 2), the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At about 6:50 p.m., John R. Warden Jr. was driving a 2006 Pontiac Torrent south on Hwy. Z and after suffering a medical condition, the SUV ran off the left side of the road and hit a utility pole, the report said.

Warden was moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City and then transferred to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, a Mercy Hospital Jefferson spokesman said.

Warden was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

The Torrent was extensively damaged, the report said.
