An Imperial woman was injured in a two-car collision Saturday afternoon (March 24) on the I-55 West Outer Road south of Old Antonia Road in Imperial.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that David Wachter, 18, of Imperial was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt north on the West Outer Road at 3:54 p.m. when he failed to stop for a 2014 Ford Fiesta that was stopped to make a left turn onto Old Antonia Road and the front of his car struck the rear of the Fiesta, which was driven by Kimberly Witthaus, 44, of Imperial.
The report made no mention of an injury to Wachter, but Witthaus was taken by Rock Township Ambulance with moderate injuries to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, the report said.
She was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the report said. The Fiesta had moderate damage while the Cobalt had extensive damage, according to the report.
