Sarah D. Sellers, 43, of Imperial was hurt Thursday afternoon (March 25) in a two-vehicle accident at highways 61-67 and K in Imperial, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 2:47 p.m., Sellers was driving a westbound 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe and while turning left from Hwy. K onto Hwy. 61-67, she failed to yield to a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier headed north on 61-67, and the front of the Cavalier struck the rear left side of the Santa Fe, the report said.
Samantha C. Zelle, 18, of Imperial was driving the Cavalier. No injuries were reported for her.
Sellers, however, was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The Cavalier was totaled, and the Santa Fe was moderately damaged, the report said.
