A 20-year-old Imperial man was seriously hurt in one-car accident early Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) in Imperial and later was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 3:23 a.m. Sunday, the man was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro east on Frisco Hill Road east of Old Lemay Ferry Road, and he failed to negotiate a curve to the right before the car traveled across the road and then off the left side, where it struck a utility pole and then overturned and struck a tree, the report said.
The driver was taken by Rock Township Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County where he was listed in satisfactory condition Tuesday (Dec. 26), a hospital spokesman said.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The car was extensively damaged, the report said.
The highway patrol arrested the man at the hospital, according to the patrol.
