traffic accident 3

Timothy T. Moran, 26, of Imperial was hurt late Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 6) in a three-vehicle accident on Hwy. 30 at Northwest Boulevard in the Fenton area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

At 4:15 p.m., Larry A. Fattig, 66, of St. Louis was headed east in a big rig, a 2014 Freightliner, and failed to stop at a red light before the front of it struck the left side of a northbound 2007 Jeep Compass, the report said.

After the collision, the Compass began spinning and struck a northbound 1997 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Chloe K. Schoemann-Wiggins, according to the report.

No injuries were reported for Fattig or Schoemann-Wiggins.

Moran was moderately injured and taken by ambulance to St. Clare Health Center in Fenton and then transferred to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, where he had been discharged, a hospital spokesman said today (Sept. 7).

All three drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The Compass sustained moderate damage, and the big rig and Blazer minor damage, the report said.
