William H. Lepp, 72, Imperial was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon (July 10) in a wreck along I-55 south of Imperial Main Street, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 1:15 p.m., Lepp was driving a 2004 Toyota Sequoia south on I-55 and drove off the right side of the interstate, where the SUV struck a 1992 Kawasaki motorcycle parked on the shoulder before traveling down an embankment, striking a fence, crossing the West Outer Road and striking a sign, the report said.
No injuries were reported for the motorcycle rider, David J. Althen, 60, of Sloan, N.Y.
Lepp was transported by Rock Township Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, where he was listed in serious condition today (July 12), a hospital spokesman said.
The Sequoia was extensively damaged, and the motorcycle was moderately damaged, the report said.
Lepp was not wearing a seat belt, and Althen was wearing a helmet, the patrol reported.
