Kaylee A. Priscu, 18, of House Springs was killed late Friday afternoon (April 21) in a six-vehicle accident on I-270 south of I-70 in St. Louis County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
A 46-year-old St. Charles man also was hurt in the accident, the report said.
At 4:05 p.m., all six vehicles involved in the accident were headed north on I-270, and a 2012 Doge Ram pickup struck the rear of a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee before Priscu, driving a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier, changed lanes to the left, where the car was struck at an angle by the Dodge Ram, according to the report.
After that collision, the Dodge Ram struck a 2008 Dodge Charger and the Cavalier again, and then the Cavalier struck the right rear side of a 2015 Toyota Corolla. A 2013 Chevrolet Sonic then struck the guardrail, the report said.
Brent W. Plumlee, 50, of St Peters was driving the Dodge Ram, Kurt M. Hunter, 34, of St. Charles was driving the Jeep, Kory L. Albrecht, 46, of St. Charles was driving the Charger, Linda S. Soffen, 45, of St. Charles was driving the Corolla and Erin E. Harms, 28, of St. Charles was driving the Sonic.
No injuries were reported for Plumlee, Hunter, Soffen or Harms.
Albrecht sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to SSM Health DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton.
Priscu was pronounced dead at the scene.
All those involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The Dodge Ram was moderately damaged, the Cavalier was totaled, the Charger and Sonic were extensively damaged and the Jeep and Corolla sustained minor damage, the report said.
