A 71-year-old House Springs man died on Monday, Feb. 10, in a crash on Hwy. N just north of Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park, in Iron County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3:55 p.m., the man was driving north in a 2004 Ford Ranger when it traveled off the left side of the road, struck a tree and caught fire, the report said.
The Iron County coroner pronounced the man dead at 5:05 p.m. and transported him to the Iron County Morgue, the report said.
According to the report, the man was not wearing a seat belt, and the vehicle was totaled.
