A 38-year-old House Springs man was arrested Thursday, March 3, for allegedly driving while intoxicated and possessing methamphetamine following a one-vehicle accident on Hwy. M west of St. Luke’s Church Road in Barnhart. The man was injured in the wreck, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 11:20 a.m., the man was driving a 2005 Mazda Tribute west on the highway, and the SUV ran off the right side of the road, where it struck a tree, the report said.
He was moderately injured and taken by the highway patrol to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, according to the report.
However, the hospital had no information about him, a Mercy spokesman said.
The man was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The SUV was totaled, the report said.
The highway patrol arrested the man at 12:27 p.m. at the hospital for DWI and possession of 1 gram of meth, according to the report.
The man’s name will not be published unless charges are filed against him, and as of today, March 5, none had been filed.
