traffic accident 3

Wesley E. and Mary M. Williams, both of Hillsboro, were injured Tuesday morning (Sept. 28) in a two-vehicle accident at highways CC and E north of Blackwell in Washington County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 10:20 a.m., Wesley Williams, 78, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado east on Hwy. E, and because there was a construction sign reportedly obstructing the view of a stop sign at the intersection with Hwy. CC, Williams allegedly failed to yield to 2006 Chevrolet 2500 headed south on CC, and the Colorado struck the right side of the other pickup. Then, the Colorado ran off the east side of CC, and the Chevrolet pickup ran off the east side of the road, the report said.

Bryan E. Walther, 30, of Blackwell was driving the Chevrolet pickup. No injuries were reported for him.

However, Wesley Williams had minor injuries, and Mary M. Williams, 73, who was a passenger in the Colorado, was moderately injured, and the two were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.

Wesley Williams was treated and released, and Mary Williams was transferred to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where she was treated and released, a Mercy spokesman said.

All those involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The two pickups were totaled, the report said.
