Shannon M. Bowers, 49, of High Ridge was hurt Wednesday evening (Dec. 14) in a one-car accident on Hwy. W north of Byrnesville Road in House Springs, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 5:17 p.m., Bowers was driving a 2014 Toyota Corolla north on Hwy. W and while she was distracted, the car ran off the right side of the road where it struck trees, the report said.
Bowers sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where she was listed in serious condition this afternoon (Dec. 15), a hospital spokeswoman said.
She was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The car was totaled, the report said.
