A man, woman and child, all from High Ridge, were hurt Sunday afternoon (March 12) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 30 at Old Sugar Creek Road in the Fenton area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 3:55 p.m., Justin M. Murphy, 32, of St. Charles was driving a 2006 GMC Envoy east on Hwy. 30 and failed to stop for a red light before the Envoy struck the left side of a 2016 Ford Escape that had been headed north on Old Sugar Creek Road and, with a green light, entered the intersection with Hwy. 30, the report said.
Richard L. Harris, 32, of High Ridge was driving the Escape. He and two passengers in the Escape – Kayla S. Harris, 29, and Kyla S. Harris, 10, both of High Ridge – were hurt, according to the report.
Richard and Kyla Harris sustained minor injuries, and Kayla was moderately hurt. All three were taken by North Jefferson County Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, where they were treated and released, a hospital spokesman said this morning (March 13).
No injuries were reported for Murphy.
All those involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
Both SUVs were extensively damaged, the report said.
