Two men, one from High Ridge, were seriously hurt Wednesday night (Aug. 28) in a wreck involving two motorcycles on Hwy. W south of Byrnesville Road in House Springs, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 8:10 p.m., Matthew R. Marler, 21, of High Ridge was riding a 2006 Suzuki GST R600 motorcycle north on the highway and had slowed to turn right, when the front of a northbound 2005 Honda CBR 600 motorcycle struck it from behind, the report said.
Robert T. Hediger, 24, of St. Louis was riding the Honda. He was taken by a Survival Flight helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where he was listed in critical condition this afternoon (Aug. 29), a hospital spokeswoman said.
Marler was taken by Big River Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was listed in good condition this afternoon, a hospital spokesman said.
Marler was wearing a helmet, and it’s unknown if Hediger was wearing one, the patrol reported.
Both bikes were totaled, the report said.
