A Herculaneum man was injured in a three-vehicle crash on southbound I-55, south of Hwy. Z, in Pevely on Dec. 16, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 6:28 a.m., Nancy C. Huber, 70, of Perryville lost control of a 2015 Honda Civic which traveled off the right side of the road, struck the guardrail and came to a stop in the middle of the highway, the report said. Jason M. Heredia, 47, attempted to swerve out of the way in a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado which struck the rear of the Honda, causing it to travel off the left side of the road and hit the cable barrier. A 2019 Freightliner, driven by Vernon E. Holt, 52, of Fulton, struck the front of the Chevrolet.
Huber and Heredia were moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City where they were treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
According to the report, all drivers were wearing seat belts, the Chevrolet and Honda were totaled and the Freightliner was moderately damaged.
