A 24-year-old Crystal City woman was seriously hurt Feb. 6 in a one-vehicle crash on Riverview Drive in Herculaneum. In addition, three passengers – a 21-year-old St. Louis man and two young Crystal City girls – sustained minor injuries in the wreck, Herculaneum Police Chief Mark Tulgetske said.
At 7:12 p.m., the woman was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Impala on Riverview Drive, and the car ran off the road, overturned and struck a tree, Tulgetske said.
He said the man was outside the vehicle when officers arrived, but the woman and her two daughters, ages 5 and 12, had to be cut out of the car.
All four were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, Tulgestske said.
He said he believes the woman was still hospitalized today (Feb 14) – in intensive care.
Tulgestke said today that the cause of the crash is under investigation, adding that it’s a criminal investigation.
