A Festus woman was seriously injured in a four-vehicle crash Wednesday, Oct. 16, on Hwy. B at Butcher Branch Road, just outside of Hillsboro, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 2:58 p.m., Deborah S. Anderson, 56, was driving a westbound 2019 Chevrolet Spark and slowed to make a left turn onto Butcher Branch Road, the report said. Aaron M. Langan, 28, of Jackson, driving a westbound 2016 Peterbilt 379, attempted to stop behind the Spark, but struck the rear of the car, pushing it across the center line.
Ronald J. Sweeney, 46, of Farmington, driving an eastbound 2023 Ford F-450 box truck, swerved to avoid the accident and was struck by the Spark and began to overturn, the report said. A 2020 Chevrolet Equinox, driven east by Taylor L. Coe, 31, of De Soto, swerved away from the crash and traveled off the road, its undercarriage striking the ground.
Anderson was seriously injured and taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
As of this afternoon, Oct. 17, Anderson was in satisfactory condition, a hospital spokesman said.
According to the report, all drivers were wearing seat belts, the Spark and the Ford were totaled, the Peterbilt was moderately damaged, and the Equinox had minor damage.
