A Festus teenager and an O’Fallon man were seriously hurt late Sunday afternoon (April 17) in an ATV accident on Beach Drive just south of Crow Lane at the Goose Creek development in St. Francois County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 4 p.m., Kyle E. Dennis, 16, of Festus was riding a 2009 Suzuki King Quad ATV north on Beach Drive, crossed the center line and struck a southbound ATV head-on, the report said.
Timothy K. Boggess, 48, of O’Fallon was riding the southbound ATV, a 2009 Honda Recon, according to the report.
Dennis was taken by helicopter to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, and Boggess was taken by helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur.
No information was available today (April 18) about Dennis' condition, but Boggess was listed in satisfactory condition, a Mercy Hospital St. Louis spokeswoman said this afternoon.
Dennis was wearing a helmet, but Boggess was not, the patrol reported.
Both ATVs were totaled, the report said.
