Casey M. Gerding, 19, of Festus was hurt Wednesday evening (May 15) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 61 at Hwy. TT south of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 5:30 p.m., Gerding was driving a 2005 Jeep Liberty north on Hwy. 61 and stopped to turn left onto Hwy. TT, and Timothy D. Schneider, 26, of Festus, driving a northbound 2013 Ford Mustang, failed to stop, resulting in an accident, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Schneider. However, Gerding was moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The Jeep was moderately damaged, and the Mustang was extensively damaged, the report said.
