A St. Louis man was hurt Friday afternoon (Feb. 23) in a two-vehicle accident on I-70 east of the Blanchette Memorial Bridge in St. Louis County. A Festus man also was involved in the accident, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

At 1:40 p.m., Anthony J. Price, 47, of St. Louis was stopped in an emergency vehicle on eastbound I-70 for road maintenance, and Brenden D. Goforth, 22, of Festus was driving an eastbound pickup, and while attempting to avoid congested traffic ahead, Goforth slowed and steered to the right, and the front of the pickup struck the rear of the emergency vehicle, the report said.

No injuries were reported for Goforth.

Price, however, was moderately injured and taken by ambulance to SSM Health DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, according to the report.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The emergency vehicle, a 2014 International 7400, and the pickup, a 2001 GMC Sierra, were extensively damaged, the report said.
