A Festus man was hurt Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) when the driver of the SUV he was riding in lost control of the vehicle on snow-covered Hwy. M east of Old Hwy. 21 in the Otto area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
Shane M. Borick, 35, of Festus was a passenger in an SUV driven by Holly N. Johnson, 22, of High Ridge, the report said.
At 9:20 a.m. Sunday, Johnson was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe west on Hwy. M, and it ran off the left side of the highway and overturned, according to the report.
No injuries were reported for Johnson. However, Borick was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, where he was listed in satisfactory condition on Tuesday (Dec. 26), a hospital spokesman said.
Johnson was wearing a seat belt, but Borick was not wearing one, the patrol reported.
The SUV was totaled, the report said.
