A Festus man was seriously injured when he crashed a motorcycle Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 17, on Hwy. CC south of South Buck Creek Road just outside of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 12:54 p.m., Edward A. Luck, 38, was riding a northbound 2023 Kawasaki EX400 when it crossed the center line, traveled off the west side of the road, slid and overturned, which ejected him from the motorcycle, the report said. The motorcycle continued sliding and struck a utility pole guy wire.
Luck was seriously injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, the report said.
According to a hospital spokesman, as of this afternoon, Sept. 18, Luck was in critical condition at Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur.
According to the report, Luck was wearing a Missouri Department of Transportation-approved safety helmet, and the motorcycle was totaled.
