Timothy J. Turnbo, 46, of Festus was injured Saturday evening (Dec. 26) when he crashed a car into a firetruck on Hwy. A west of Glen Oaks Drive northwest of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 6:47 p.m., Turnbo was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala east on the highway and crossed the center line into the path of a westbound 2012 Rosenbauer America Municipal firetruck, and the car struck the front of the truck, the report said.
After the collision, the car ran off the left side of the highway and overturned, according to the report.
Robert C. Aubuchon, 38, of De Soto was driving the firetruck, which belongs to the Mapaville Fire Protection District. No injuries were reported for him.
Turnbo, however, was moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.
Aubuchon was wearing a seat belt, and Turnbo was not wearing one, the patrol reported.
The car was totaled, and the firetruck was extensively damaged, the report said.
