Russel B. McKenzie, 44, of Festus died late Tuesday afternoon (April 21) in a one-car accident on Bailey School Road near Pullman Drive in Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 4:15 p.m., McKenzie was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Impala north on Bailey School Road and failed to negotiate a curve to the left, and the car ran off the road and its right front corner struck a tree, the report said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance personnel.
McKenzie was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The car was totaled, the report said.
