Monica L. Steiner, 48, of Eureka was hurt Wednesday morning (Oct. 19) in a three-vehicle accident on I-44 west of Bowles Avenue in the Fenton area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 8 a.m., Steiner was driving a 2010 Honda Odyssey east on I-44, following behind a 2011 Buick Enclave that stopped for traffic congestion ahead. Steiner also stopped for the traffic, but a pickup behind her didn’t stop in time, and the front of it struck the rear of the Odyssey, which, then was pushed into the back of the Enclave, the report said.
William J. Saffold, 41, of Ballwin was driving the Enclave, and Kevin M. Gregorc, 18, of Byrnes Mill was driving the pickup, a 1999 Chevrolet S-10. No injuries were reported for either of them.
Steiner, however, sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said today (Oct. 21).
All three drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The Odyssey and pickup were totaled, and the Enclave sustained moderate damage, the report said.
